The pub quiz has been a long-held tradition dating back to the 1970s, it was brought to life by Burns and Porter, a British duo who saw an opportunity to turn the humble pub quiz into a business.
Fast forward a few years and they transformed 30 teams into 10,000 and a very successful business.
Bar quizzes or often known as pub quizzes generally follow their traditional format, either a quiz master or bar staff memeber will come around with pens and paper, which usually consist of a sheet of numbers to match the answer to the corresponding questions.
Once a round is completed the teams will usually hand in the answers sheet for scoring or some cases pass it to another team.
There is also usually a prize element involved, either a prize behind the bar of drinks or food for the winning team or as is most common every team pays an entry fee, typically £1 this is then used to create the winning prize pot.
